Geo-Sustainnovation

GLOSS is a global academic society, officially established on August 10, 2021. It is an organization that aims to realize a resilient society by balancing sustainability and innovation through collaboration between geotechnical engineering and other fields. 

 

The GLOSS Research Group organization consists of faculty members and researchers from Kyushu University, general contractors, consultants, and manufacturers, and has seven purposes mentioned in this bulletin in order to mutually enhance the capabilities of its employees and members in their respective fields.

　近年、地球温暖化に起因する気候変動やそれによる災害が注目されています。私たちの研究室では、産官学が連携しながら適切なアプローチと努力によって、CO2排出量の減少に挑むことをモットーとしています。地盤工学の観点から気候変動の適応策の発展は社会にとって喫緊の課題であり、私たちはそれに着目した研究を行っています。
　また、世界では、地震災害をはじめとして、洪水や土砂崩れなど様々な自然災害が発生しており、近年こうした被害が頻繁に報告されています。こうした状況の中で、私たちの研究室にとって、今日、現代社会が直面する二つの側面(防災と自然保護)を結合した研究方法論の確立が大きな目的の一つです。
　そのため、私たちの研究室では、現地調査や試験、模型実験やそのシミュレーション、自然材料や廃棄物の要素実験、および物性試験、ドローンやIoT、人工知能(AI)を使った防災システムの向上などに取り組んでいます。地盤工学的な防災対策を通じて、現在起こっている、あるいはこれから先起こり得る災害への体制を整備することが私たちの研究の目的です。
